Join us at this unique and atmospheric venue in Weston-Super-Mare. Set on a former RAF airfield with deep wartime roots, this vast site offers a chilling setting for paranormal investigations.
With its towering hangers, historic military buildings and eerie outdoor aircraft graveyard, this is a location where history lingers and many believe......so do the spirits!
The History of The Helicopter Museum
The Helicopter Museum is home to one of the worlds largest collections of rotary aircraft, but its story stretches far beyond aviation alone. Originally part of RAF Weston-Super-Mare, the site played an important role during World War ll serving as a base for training and military operations while sitting within an area impacted by wartime bombing and loss of life. Across the grounds, remnants of this past still exist including historic air riad shelters, expansive hangers and former control buildings that once supported the war effort.
In the years following the war, the site gradually transformed, eventually becoming the museum we see today. Now housing over 80 helicopters, each with their own history, purpose and unknown past. Yet despite its modern use, there remains a strong sense that the history here has not fully faded. The echoes of the past may still linger!
Reported Activity
This is a new venue to the paranormal scene, however, staff and visitors alike have made claims over the years. There have been reports of unexplained noises within the hangers, Some have experienced sudden cold spots as well as shadow figures lingering around the helicopters. A firm favourite with staff is the ghost of a tabby cat
As the museum is based on an old RAF site, there will be a lot of residual energy for us to discover.
