The Heart of Service: A Retreat for Veteran and Military Couples

Take time together with your spouse/partner and join fellow veterans and military couples for an empowering morning of self-care. Learn techniques to quickly and effectively improve communication and connection.

Workshop sessions include:

• Bridging the Gap: Using Effective Communication for Connection by Mikayla McMurtray, LPC-Associate, LMFT-Associate, Therapist, Samaritan Center
• Vision in Harmony: Defining Shared Goals with Art by Kathryn Smiley, MFT, Counseling Intern, Texas State University, and Military Spouse
• Equine Connection: Horse Love Grooming & Interaction by ROCK staff

Event details:

• Open to any veteran, active duty service member, and their spouse/partner
• Arrive by 8:30 am to check-in
• Must show proof of military status: DD-214, VA card, military ID, marriage certificate, statement of benefits
• Please wear comfortable clothing for gentle movement, and bring closed toe shoes (boots preferred) with pants/shorts for horse work
• Lunch will be provided
• Childcare will not be provided
