About this Event
The Healing Feast offers food and community for healing connections with self, others, the earth, and the sacred. Singer/songwriter and sacred space facilitator Sari Brown created this monthly series to share nurturing, globally-inspired food that is mindful of the earth, along with deep conversations, uplifting music, and embodied practices of aliveness. This month's Healing Feast is an outdoor event at the gardens on Maplewood in Ypsilanti, giving us the opportunity to emphasize healing connects with nature. The theme will be Wild Abundance, weaving an embodied experience of havest and homecoming that is indiscriminately generous. Here we all recieve prodigal, lavish abundance whether we have worked for it or not, whether we are considered to deserve it or not. The dialogue question will be: How have you experienced abundance without feeling you did anything to "earn" it? How have you shared abundance without expecting anything in return? How can we cultivate more experiences of abundance in our community/world?
Featured artists/facilitators: is a healing artist, facilitator, and aerial dancer who founded Springtide Revival, an annual event of music, healing and circus arts. is a cellist, songwriter, and wizard of loop pedals and beats who creates mind-opening, heart-expanding music with "cosmic strings calling souls home."
Menu: Summer Spread of Abundance with salads and appetizers from Michigan, Mexico, Bolivia, and Perú. This diverse spread spans the Americas with the richest and most satisfying picnic food from various cultures where we have connections inlcuding: papas a la huancaína, potatoes and yellow chile sauce atop a South American version of a cobb salad--including both the Bolivian peanut-based and Peruvian cream-based versions of the sauce; hearty spinach beet salad with optional feta and pecan toppings, and the real deal guacomole & chips.
