About this Event

Singer/songwriter, sacred space facilitator, and cook holds The Healing Feast every month to share nurturing, globally-inspired food that is mindful of the earth, along with practices to help us embody joy, healing, creativity, and abundance.

The theme of Growing Roots Where You Are explores how we can tap into ancestral memory of our own ancestors' indigenous practices and learn to live in respectful, mutual connection with the land wherever we now have put down roots. Our featured facilitators will be:

is a composer, musician, jazz pianist, liberating linear timelines through storytelling and ancestral healing. Her musical goals are to re-establish and re-connect human to land through frequency memory.

Nyenyenzi (Yenzi Grace) is a Ntu-Yogi — a fusion practitioner blending Haka, the ancient Bantu sound-based spiritual practice and Bantu crystal healing with the discipline of yoga, honed over ten-plus years as a certified instructor.

is a community drum circle guide with a magical way of creating a space to improvise and co-create meaning through music

is a father, husband, pastor, poet, musician, and treasurer of The Healing Feast board

Menu: Tacos del huerto - Garden tacos with beef, tofu, veggie, and egg options + homemade salsas, agua de jamaica drink, and sweet treats - gluten free w/ vegan & allergen friendly options

Tickets: Sliding scale tickets are $22-$66, and child tickets are $7. Tickets are available in advance or at the event while supplies last, but sometimes we sell out! Ticket prices are a few dollars more on the day of the event. Free tickets are also available for people with financial constraints and/or who feel they can best contribute to this event in other, non-monetary ways. Times: Check-in begins at 4:30, drum circle begins at 5:00, ceremonial opening and dinner at 5:30 pm; participatory creative experience 6:30-8:30 pm.

Location & Host: The Gardens on Maplewood, 1133 Maplewood Ave., Ypsilanti. This will be an outdoor event and we suggest you bring a picnic blanket, lawn chairs, hats, and sunglasses. We will hold the event rain or shine, but in the event of extreme storms or air quality issues, we will update this page and social media platforms with our alternate plan.

Benefit: 10% of all proceeds raised will be donated to We The People Opportunity Farm, a non-profit and farm reducing the recidivism rate by giving employment opportunities to formerly incarcerated individuals.
