The challenge of standing up for what is right has never been more important, and "The Green Thread" is this call to action. Drawing from her childhood on a farm near New Vienna, Iowa, and stories about her German immigrant family, Sister Karen encourages today's women to confront generational trauma, find resilience, and embrace their own spiritual authority. There has never been a better time to begin than right now.
Karen Lueck is a Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration based in La Crosse, Wisconsin. In her ministry, she has served as an elementary school teacher, mental health counselor, spiritual director, novice director, and leader of her religious community. Her first book, "Cheering for the Good: Leading When It Matters," carried out this deeply held commitment. "The Green Thread" is a continuation of this work.
The event is free and everyone is welcome. Books will be available to purchase. For more information, please call the Library at 563-589-4225 or visit us online at www.carnegiestout.org.
