The Greatest Story Seldom Told: PEPFAR and How It Happened
About this Event
In 2003, the United States came together across the aisle to address the AIDS crisis in Africa. This bipartisan success story became PEPFAR, a program now credited with saving more than 26 million lives. Join us for an evening with the people who helped make it happen!
Join in the converstion with a policymaker working the halls of Washington, a Boston Globe writer who describes it all his new book "Lifeline", a Kenyan doctor who watched as life returned to her hospital, and a scientist-turned-program implementer who built treatment programs from the ground up in Uganda and Kenya. Together they’ll share how the collective vision, global partnerships, and perservenerance turned deep despair into possibility, and why that lesson matters more than ever. Come listen if you are a student thinking about global health and service, a faculty member working in these areas, or a community member who is worreid about what is next. We hope you leave inspired by what people can accomplish when they decide that every life is worth saving.
