The Lone Star Corvette Club is embarking on an exciting journey from Dallas, Texas up the legendary Route 66 on our way to Effingham, Illinois for the world-famous Mid-America Corvette Funfest! The adventure takes place September 15-20, 2026.
Along the way, we’ll cruise through some classic Route 66 stops—like the Blue Whale of Catoosa in Oklahoma, a quirky roadside icon that’s been greeting travelers since the 1970s, and Route 66 Museum, where the history of America’s most famous highway comes alive. We’ll roll past vintage diners, neon signs, and historic landmarks that remind us why Route 66 holds such a special place in road trip history.
Our final destination is Effingham, Illinois, home of the legendary Mid America Motorworks Corvette Funfest (www.CorvetteFunfest.MAMotoroworks.com). Since 1994, Funfest has been a celebration of America’s sports car, bringing together thousands of Corvette enthusiasts from across the country. With car shows, seminars, entertainment, and rows upon rows of Corvettes spanning every generation, it’s the ultimate Corvette experience!
This drive is more than just miles on the road—it’s about the camaraderie, the sights, and the shared love of America’s highway culture and the Corvette lifestyle.
