The Great Literacy Adventure: A Free Community Event

The Great Literacy Adventure is a free, countywide celebration of literacy and lifelong learning highlighting the Sonoma County Literacy Promise. This event is hosted by Sonoma County Office of Education and Northern California Public Media. It brings together families, educators, Sonoma County Literacy Partners and dynamic literacy advocates to champion joyful, inclusive literacy experiences and connect families with resources countywide to promote literacy at home.

Come for part or stay for the whole event!

Audience: Families with children, educators, and community partners from Sonoma County (All children must be accompanied by an adult)

Parking: Free at the Rohnert Park Kaiser Permanente Building located next door

• A Quest for the Great Scholastic Book Treasure Chest (1 free book per child, while supplies last)
• Buddy the Dinosaur and Carl the Collector from PBS Kids
• Live Storytimes with Special Guest Readers!
• Author Signing: Marissa McGee (Free the Curls!) and Matthew Gollub (Jazz Fly)
• Otto the Otter from the Sonoma County Library
• Kids “On Air” in the KRCB radio studio
• Be the Star of the Show! PBS Green Screen experience
• Food Trucks (Sol Azteca, Kona Ice, World Famous Corndogs)
• Rohnert Park Fire Department Fire Truck
