Step into the sandals of the young athletes from the classical past and join the Great Greek Gymnasium. It's a fun-filled family event exploring the world of ancient sports.
Discover how the ancient Greek gymnasium was more than just a training ground - it was also a place of learning, a little similar to a school today, Try your hand ancient sports and get creative with sporty crafts. Get the whole family involved and play, learn and explore together.
This Summer at the Museums event is free and family-friendly. There is no need to book, just drop in.

Summer Temperatures:
Our glass-roofed gallery can get very warm in the summer months. We recommend bringing water if the weather is forecast to be warm and sunny.

Accessibility:
The Cast Gallery is on the first floor.
We provide step-free access via our lift. To use the lift please ask at the reception on the ground floor of the Faculty of Classics.
This event involves moving and standing, but we have chairs available which can be moved around the gallery.
