The Gentleman Demon: The Jack the Ripper Séance
About this Event
Halloween night. Saturday 31 October. Doors 7.30pm, show 8.00pm. 16+.
London, 1888. Five women are murdered in Whitechapel. The killer is never found. More than a century later we're still talking about it.
The Jack the Ripper Séance takes an audience back into that story through historical narrative, strange objects, theatrical séance and bizarre magic. It's an intimate piece, built for a small room and a low light level.
Mark tells the story of Whitechapel with the women at the centre of it, not as scenery. They were real people with names, and the evening treats them that way.
This is theatre. Mark makes no claim to summon anybody.
There comes a point in the evening when knowing that may not be terribly comforting.
