High Tea x Trap Democracy - June 14th, 2026 from 6pm-10pm at The Greenhouse
The Flourish Alabama and Shake the Field are joining forces for a special extended edition of High Tea, one that brings together everything we love about both of our worlds: live music, poetry, hip-hop culture, and community power all in one space.
High Tea is The Flourish Alabama's monthly NPR Tiny Desk-inspired showcase highlighting emerging and established Southern artists. Designed as an intimate, community-centered experience, it creates space for live performance, artistic discovery, and meaningful connection. Trap Democracy is Shake the Field's community celebration, rooted in Southern Black culture and the energy of trap music, building space for joy, expression, and real conversations about community power with folks who are often left out of the civic engagement conversation.
This month, those two visions come together.
We're keeping everything you know and love about High Tea: featured artist performances from Daan Rana and Benji, our open mic, good people, and good energy. And we're adding to the experience with food, Shake the Field artist performances, a conversation led by the Alabama Justice Initiative, and Trap Karaoke throughout the night.
Whether you're an artist, activist, or simply looking for community, this space is for you. Come catch a vibe, support local talent, share your own work on the open mic, or meet a room full of people invested in the arts and in building a better Alabama for all.
