About this Event
This class will guide us to create spring Chabana ( 茶花: Japanese Tea Ceremony floral arrangement ). Come join us for hands-on experience where you'll learn the the Japanese traditional beauty of flower arrangement.
Ikebana is meant to represent life with its seasonality and changes; Chabana is encouraged that the materials are presented as they would be seen in nature—unadorned and "perfectly imperfect."
Some flowers are considered as Kinka (forbidden flower, 禁花) Let’s learn why and how we can embrace it as respect and artful ways. Let’s celebrate theSpring season with unique experiences. The seasonal sweet will be served with a bowl of matcha.
*Chabana (茶花, literally "tea flowers") is the arrangement of seasonal flowers for a Japanese tea ceremony. Displayed in the tokonoma alcove along with other key thematic elements for the gathering, the chabana style appeals to those who prefer a simple, natural look in their creation. While ikebana and other styles of floral arrangement prescribe their own distinct frameworks, chabana recognizes and transfers the essence of field to vase.
