Breaking Down Borders – Cross-Border Insolvency Tools for Unwinding Offshore and International Fraud
About this Event

Dear Members,

As fraud schemes become increasingly sophisticated and international in scope, insolvency practitioners, forensic experts and legal advisers are facing growing challenges in tracing assets, navigating offshore structures and coordinating recovery efforts across multiple jurisdictions.

The Female Fraud Forum (FFF) and International Women's Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) (Channel Islands) are delighted to present an insightful breakfast seminar, “Breaking Down Borders – Cross-Border Insolvency Tools for Unwinding Offshore and International Fraud”, where our panel of leading practitioners will explore the practical tools, strategies and practical challenges involved in uncovering and unwinding offshore and international fraud through cross-border insolvency and asset recovery processes.

The session will examine how insolvency and restructuring professionals work alongside forensic investigators and legal teams to uncover fraudulent activity, trace flow of funds and pursue recovery using both local and international mechanisms. Topics will include Chapter 15 recognition in the United States, UNCITRAL cross-border assistance, Norwich Pharmacal applications, intermediary bank discovery, sanctions-related structures, and the increasing scrutiny of opaque offshore vehicles and trusts.

Through practical case studies and real-world examples, the discussion will provide valuable insight into the evolving role of insolvency practitioners and forensic specialists in complex fraud and asset recovery matters.
