This popular multi-terrain, out-and-back race follows the picturesque Bridgewater Canal towpath, offering the perfect challenge for runners looking to test their fitness whilst enjoying a beautiful and varied route. New for 2026, we’re excited to introduce a 5K race option, finishing at Stretford Marina.
Renamed in 2024, the event proudly honours the memory of Emma Horrell, a dedicated Manchester Road Runners committee member and much-loved club runner. Emma was a passionate supporter of Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), and all proceeds from the event will be donated to the charity in her memory.
All participants will receive a finisher’s pack, including snacks and a bespoke race medal. After crossing the line, runners can soak up the atmosphere at Race HQ (The Wharf), where food, drinks and a warm community spirit await. Participants running the 5k also have a £2 bus ticket included in their entry that will take them back to the Wharf.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in both race distances.
Whether you're chasing a PB or simply running for the experience, we look forward to welcoming you to this memorable and inspiring event.
