BEYOND THE GATES!
Join dark historian Andrew Johnston of Alternative Ulstours for a special spooky tour of Friar's Bush Graveyard for Friday the 13th!
Hear horrifying facts and grisly folklore from Belfast's oldest Christian burial ground on this official, council-approved event.
• The 'bad death' that sparked a riot at Friar's Bush
• The unmarked mass grave of 'Plaguey Hill'
• Grasping ghosts of the restless dead
• The secret of Abraham Bambridge's foot
• The strange case of Andrew McKenna's head
• A Friar's Bush occupant whose murderer made history
• The family plot of Ireland's 'Mistress of the Macabre'
• An electrifying connection to the Universal Monsters
• Body snatchers at large in Friar's Bush
• Priest hunters on the prey in Friar's Bush
• Investigating infanticide in the poor ground
• Morbid memorabilia of Kevin T Buggy, Esq
• An awful assault involving a skull and bones
Please note:
• The walking tour starts outside the entrance gates of Friar's Bush Graveyard on Stranmillis Road in Belfast, where your guide will be waiting for you
• Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start time
• The tour will last two hours and cover less than half a mile on mainly flat, even ground, though with some hilly, rough and potentially wet ground also
• The route is fully accessible, but please inform us in advance of any mobility issues
• The tour ends back at the start point
• The tour will go ahead in all weathers, so please dress accordingly and stay hydrated
• There are public toilets near the graveyard
• Your guide is a Level 4 'blue badge' tour guide and Visit Belfast industry partner
• The tour is fully insured through Tour Guides NI
Very important:
• The tour is open to all ages, but parental guidance is advised due to the graphic nature of some content. You have been warned!
