The Cookin' Catfish Club 16 - In historic Rochester. A town brimming with Dickensian charm, numerous fine restaurants & bars, plenty of vintage & charity shops & multiple hotels available at very reasonable prices within walking distance of our venue - The Masonic Hall, Gundolph Sq. (Inbetween Mamma Mia restaurant & The Royal Crown public house) Just off of Rochester High St(Bridge end). ME1 1QD. The venue has a good size wooden dancefloor & adjacent large bar area with agreeable prices, what's not to love about partying right by Rochester's Norman castle?
Expect to hear ferocious rhythm & blues, soaring club soul. Latin, jazz, ska, beat, garage & more.
The greatest underground club sounds of the 1950s & 1960s spun on original vinyl, infront of the sharpest, most energetic dancers in Medway. Saturday 8th February. 7.30pm until 1am.
Joining the usual Catfish selectors for an electric night in Rochester, we welcome two fantastic guest DJs.
Making his first appearance with us, we're excited to announce Craig Simpson of Nottingham's Hoochie Coochie club will be bringing his incredible records to Medway. Craig has been spinning wild rock 'n' roll, red hot rhythm & blues, rockabilly & shakin' sleaze at the (fabulous)Hoochie Coochie Club for many a fine year. He has made guest DJ appearances at just about every cool mid-Century vinyl party in the UK & across Europe. Not to mention running an earlier Cookin' Catfish which ran for a few events at the turn of the millennium, also in Nottingham. Craig will be right at home in front of a CC banner once again!

Making his second guest appearance at CC, please welcome back, Paul Vine, of the magnificent Boogaloo Revue. Also holding fort in the Medway delta. Paul is a DJ that delights both dancers & heads alike with his astonishing collection of records. Funk-edged Soul is written on each BR poster, but Paul can put a top set of tunes together in many genres of music. Not to mention the spaces between genres...And the spaces inbetween spaces between genres! Recent guest DJ slots for Paul include his continued involvement with the Rhythm, Soul & Funk weekenders, Glastonbury festival alongside Greg Belson & the Rugby soul allnighter.

Please note the slight increase to ticket prices for 2025 is something we have been pushed into due to the venue hire rising in price at the start of last year. We swallowed the increase for the last two events, but were in a situation where we needed to sell out just to have the budget required to pay our DJs anywhere near a respectable amount for their time & musical expertise. We remain a non-profit event, giving all money collected from ticket sales, after venue cost & promotion, back to our guest & resident DJs. We also want to continue to attract top guest DJs to the club going forwards. We hope this isn't an inconvenience to you good people that come along & dance all night. 💃🕺

The Cookin' Catfish Club naturally attracts and encourages very smart & colourfully dressed people, but we do not enforce any kind of dresscode. All are welcome. Please just be aware of the fantastic vintage environment you'll be walking into. We ask all attending to please keep your drinks off the dancefloor area.
