You know that opinion you have that your friends really don't agree with?
Bring it.
The Common Room is a game night built for good people, good games, and better conversations. And every session ends with Beg to Differ, a live, interactive segment where someone puts an unpopular opinion on the table and makes the case for it.
Think: PowerPoint night meets friendly debate meets “wait… hear me out.”
No podiums. No debate-team energy. No need to be an expert.
Just a room full of people willing to say what they actually think.
HOW BEG TO DIFFER WORKS
1. THE TAKE
Someone steps up with a genuinely debatable opinion.
“Work-life balance is overrated.”
“Brunch is wildly overrated.”
“Your favorite TV show isn't actually that good.”
The more defensible, the better.
2. MAKE THE CASE
You've got a few minutes to present your argument.
Slides are encouraged. Stories are encouraged. Questionable evidence is… tolerated.
Make your case. Convince us.
3. THE ROOM RESPONDS
Then we open it up.
The audience can question the take, challenge the logic, add their own perspective, or make the case for the other side.
This is where things get interesting.
4. DID ANYONE CHANGE THEIR MIND?
We check back in with the room.
Maybe you changed some minds.
Maybe you didn't.
Maybe the presenter somehow made their argument more convincing.
Either way, the point isn't to win. It's to make the room think.
WHY COME?
Because meeting new people doesn't have to mean standing around making small talk.
Because game night is more fun when there's something to talk about afterward.
Because you're probably tired of conversations where everyone agrees with each other.
