The Coalminers — the band who toured with Loretta Lynn for over 40 years in front of more than 25 million fans at 5000+ shows worldwide — continues to celebrate the Queen of Country with their amazing presentation of ALWAYS LORETTA featuring Emily Portman as Loretta. Emily portrayed Loretta in the Conway Twitty musical “It’s Only Make Believe,” and during frequent trips to visit the country star at her ranch in Hurricane Mills Tennessee, Emily traded stories and moments with Loretta that forged a strong bond and a real friendship between the two women. When Loretta died in October of 2022, her family knew that Emily and The Coalminers were the way to keep Loretta’s legacy alive.
Together, The Coalminers and Emily deliver the most authentic recreation of a Loretta Lynn concert to be found anywhere….presenting the songs of Loretta Lynn the way she performed them and first-hand stories of their on-the-road adventures from the band who backed her at premier venues from Carnegie to Albert Hall, from Sydney Opera house to the Grand Ole Opry and shares a unique viewpoint of Loretta’s music that can’t be duplicated by anyone else. You will of course hear the biggest hits from Loretta’s legendary career, and other fan favorites that only occasionally made it into the normal tour song list. One of the highlights of the show is the “Get to Know Loretta” section, where The Coalminers take questions from the audience and share funny stories about life on the road with Loretta.
This 90 minute concert is a wonderfully authentic glimpse into the touring world of Loretta Lynn – an evening of music and memories honoring The Queen of Country and her legendary career by a good friend who sounds just like her and by the band who knew her best.
