As part of the "Midwinter Magic in Hokitika" festival, a series of Heritage Talks is on offer at Westland Industrial Heritage Park, starting with the Coach House, a collection of early stage coaches, wagons and buggies dating back to the 1800s. There are also blacksmithing and saddle sections. The speaker is David Verrall, custodian of West Coast history with a particular interest in early European settlement and their modes of transport.
