Get Ready for The City Slam Poetry Slam and Experimental Open Mic!

This month we bring you a special edition of the City Slam - The Fantasy Slam - We encourage all poets and performs to bring works that explore their interpretation of fantasy. And feautring on this occasion is the one and only Jamie De Wolf.

Jamie DeWolf is a performer, filmmaker, writer, live event producer, arts educator and circus ringmaster from Oakland, CA whose films have won over 35 international awards. He’s written and performed with inmates at San Quentin Penitentiary, won “Performance of the Year” by NPR’s Snap Judgment, was voted “Best Poet” and “Best Filmmaker” from the East Bay Express, and has lead writing workshops at over 90 universities, high schools and juvenile detention facilities nation-wide, also coaching the Youth Speaks slam team two years in a row to the Brave New Voices Finals, also featured on HBO. As one of the most in demand variety show hosts in the Bay Area and beyond, he’s a regular emcee and curator for circus troupes, vaudeville showcases and music festivals across the U.S.

Sign ups for the Slam start at 6pm, the compeition begins at 7pm. Anyone who signs up to compete gets free entry. Cash prizes for the winner!

Sign up before the Slam ends for the Open Mic. Sign up at the door for free entry. We can provide a mic, and guitar amp, you are responsible for cables and any other equipment. For digital files please have an MP3 or WAV file to transfer to the DJ, we cannot stream from the internet.
