This talk traces the career fork in the road that most community and marketing professionals eventually hit — the point where a title that made you valuable stops being one that lets you grow.
Scott Wilder will draw on his own path through Google, Apple, Intuit, Atlassian, LastPass, American Express, and Marketo — plus consulting work with Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, and Adobe — to show how he reinvented his career more than once, shifting from community leader to digital success and scale leader, and most recently by spotting the shift toward AI-driven self-service before it had a name.
He currently serves as Global Head of Digital Scale and Self-Serve at LastPass. Scott Wilder will also share how he started a second career, Game Ready Mindset, a mental performance coaching platform for athletes, years ahead of his original retirement timeline.
He holds a Master's from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, an MBA from New York University, and a Master's in International Studies and Conflict Resolution from Johns Hopkins University, and is the author of Millennial Leaders and the forthcoming Compete in Any Weather. Attendees will leave with a practical exercise — the "journey line" — to map their own career.
