Filmed when silent superstar Marion Davies’ popularity was at an all-time high, her comedic gifts are on full display in her role as ditzy American girl visiting Monte Carlo. During her trip she is hired by a tennis champ (Nils Asther) to be his "cardboard lover"--to pretend to be in love with him so he can teach his two-timing fiancé a lesson and win her back.
