It opens with the Dead Song Society – a joyful, stripped-back community singalong.
Two feature acts follow: an intimate acoustic set, then an upbeat, dance-ready band.
Grassroots, volunteer-powered, and proudly community-driven.
Fresh sounds, shared voices, and a little BUg mischief in the mix.

INSTAGRAM [https://www.instagram.com/bluegrass_barbie/]
Bluegrass Barbie and the Ken Dolls are Brisbane's pinkgrass pioneers. Led by powerhouse vocalist and fiddler Amily, backed by world-class musicians on guitar, banjo, mandolin, and double bass. They blend traditional bluegrass with originals in high-energy, foot-stomping performances. It's bluegrass - but make it pink (and sparkly).
7.45pm THE INADEQUATES
WEBSITE [https://www.theinadequates.com]
The Inadequates are a modern acoustic sensation that is making waves on the Australian folk scene. Dressed in vibrant suits, their high-energy performances are infectious, making them festival favourites everywhere they perform. Drawing inspiration from artists like Punch Brothers, Nickel Creek, and Mumford & Sons, the Inadequates are constantly pushing boundaries, splicing the intimacy of traditional acoustic music with the exhilarating energy of a modern rock ensemble.
7pm DEAD SONG SOCIETY
Dead Song Society, hosted by Bec Hoole (AKA indie artist Pipin), is a bold new community-singing project inspired by the spirit of Dead Poets Society, celebrating creativity, connection and joyful rebellion. Gather to sing fun, quirky songs, embrace your inner mischief-maker, and discover the freedom that comes from raising voices together. Carpe cantum - seize the song!
Brisbane Unplugged Gigs (The BUg) is a long-running grassroots acoustic music series held weekly in Brisbane. For over 23 years, it has provided a welcoming stage for singer-songwriters, folk performers and emerging artists, alongside established acts from across Australia. Run by dedicated volunteers, The BUg fosters community, creativity and attentive listening in an intimate concert setting. In addition to its Tuesday night concerts, it presents special events including BUgFest, The BUgEtte and the BUg BAzAAr.
