The goal of this event is to honor and remember our friend, Brett Gelbach, with a day that reflects exactly who he was - full of laughter, adventure, friendship, and giving back. The Brett
Gelbach Annual Fun Run was created to celebrate his life through boating, storytelling, and camaraderie, while raising money for a scholarship fund established in his name. This scholarship will support young adults entering the skilled trades - Something Brett was deeply passionate about as demonstrated throughout his exceptional career and his desire to coach and mentor others. There is no better way to honor him than by spending the day doing what he loved most and helping others follow in his footsteps.
This is a boating event that will take place on the Lake Winnebago chain of lakes and be based out of The Sometimes at Pioneer Island Tiki Bar located at Pioneer Marina. The Tiki Bar is located on Pioneer Island which is right where the Fox River flows into Lake Winnebago (marked by the gold star on the map screen shots).
The Brett Gelbach Annual Fun Run presented by ShoreStation will take place on Saturday, June 20th, 2026, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. All the boats will gather in the morning for some fun before we make some announcements and fire up the engines to idle out to our starting spot in the lake, just East of Pioneer Island. From there, we will all take off at the same time and start making or way to The Brett Gelbach Annual Fun Run stop locations. We will be starting to announce the stop locations soon that are partnering with us to bring you this fun day on the water! We are planning an optional raft off at Streiches Sandbar w/ water volleyball just to the South East of Pioneer Island in the afternoon, before meeting back at the Tiki Bar for drinks, dinner, and raffle items followed by Star Six Nine rocking you into the evening under the tent adjacent to the Tiki Bar.
This is a family friendly event with lots of fun activities around the Tiki Bar on Pioneer Island. They have sand volleyball, bocce ball, bag toss, and ladder toss just to name a few fun games as well as plenty of green grass area to enjoy the views of Lake Winnebago! There are also bathrooms on site and a food truck serving items all day for those that might be looking for a bite to eat!
It all adds up to a fun day to celebrate the life of our friend Brett and raise money for a scholarship fund that will awards scholarships in his name to young men and women seeking a degree in the trades industries.
