The Body in the Mobile Library: an evening with Peter Bradshaw

Peter will be reading a short story from his collection, The Body in the Mobile Library.

With twenty-one deliciously observed, gloriously mischievous short stories – some previously narrated on BBC Radio 4 or published in literary magazines, others completely new – Peter Bradshaw explores the boundary between the plausible and the absurd, often with a laugh-out-loud gag up his sleeve.

Amid the playfulness, he has an enduring warmth and sympathy for every character, however hapless. He offers pinpricks of light in a dark sky of confusion and pain.

Limited tickets are available for this event, which will be hosted in the bookshop.

Tickets are £6 each and include a glass of wine or soft alternative.

Please note that the reading will take place in a space which, unfortunately, is only accessible by using the stairs. We are sorry that this means it will be unsuitable for some people.
