About this Event

In-Person Experience | Evidence-Based | Partner Included

Embrace the wisdom and innate knowledge of your body.

This holistic childbirth education course is designed for parents who are planning a low-intervention, physiologic birth and want practical tools, confidence, and information—without fear-based teaching.

Ideal for families considering birth center birth, midwifery care, or hospital birth with minimal intervention, this course provides a comprehensive understanding of labor, birth options, and informed decision-making. You will learn how to support the natural process of labor, protect your ability to remain low risk, and navigate your birthing rights with confidence...while also being prepared for the possibility of plans changing due to variations of birth or complications along the way.

Come join us at The Birth Center of NJ for hands-on learning, and real-time support in a shared community space.

  • Comfort measures and relaxation techniques for labor
  • The essential role of the birthing partner
  • How to remain low risk and reduce unnecessary interventions

What students are saying...

"Michelle is very knowledgeable about what she teaches and the class is fun because you can tell that she truly enjoys what she does. I appreciate her honesty throughout and her willingness to debunk popular opinions about pregnancy and delivery (especially natural births) that are not necessarily rooted in sound evidence. I didn't know how much I needed this class until I actually took it. But I am thankful that I did, because you just don't know what you don't know and I think every expecting mother should take this course."

"This class was eye opening; you just don't know what you don't know about birth! My husband and I are so grateful we took this instead of thinking we could just watch some YouTube Videos. Your explanations and 'plain talk' made very medical material understandable, we feel empowered to advocate for ourselves and work toward having the birth of our dreams"

"Steven and I would like to thank you again for the classes that you have provided to us this month. Although I am not due until much later, we appreciate being able to take the classes now. They were something we looked forward to each weekend, and have undoubtedly been helpful in best preparing us for delivery at the BCNJ"

"Truly appreciate your class. Giving us first time parents-to-be much wisdom."

"As a doula I am better able to assist my clients given the detail of the birth process and possible interventions. I was missing that in my doula training and thought I'd need to learn that with experience. I especially loved the advocacy portion and best practices for getting a good latch for breastfeeding. I will be using your placenta care and postpartum guidelines as well"

"I have nothing but positive feedback for Michelle. She is really passionate about her teachings and keeps the class engaged. She was also able to give different perspectives that allow students to consider their birthing decisions based on main stream medical information and a more holistic approach. I would recommend this class to any new parent to be."
