Celebrate Independence Day: Union’s Historic 12-Mile Bike Tour!
Join us for our annual Independence Day Bike Tour! This 12-mile journey takes you through the heart of Union, pedaling past five of our most iconic historical sites. It’s the perfect blend of fitness, local heritage, and community spirit.
Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a casual rider, this event is designed for all fitness levels. Enjoy the rare opportunity to ride through town with a police escort and dedicated street access!

- Time: 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM (Check-in starts at 7:45 AM)
- Location: Connecticut Farms Church (888 Stuyvesant Ave)
- Registration Fee: $10 (Includes a post-ride breakfast!)
POST-RIDE CELEBRATION
Your $10 ticket covers both the tour and the Community Brunch! After crossing the finish line, join fellow riders at Connecticut Farms Church to refuel, relax, and celebrate the holiday with a delicious morning meal. The menu includes:
- Featured Sandwich: The Connecticut Farm – Taylor ham, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel, served with a potato pancake and house Jersey tomato ketchup.
- Side: Kale Caesar salad.
- Dessert: Strawberry shortcake cups.
- Grab-and-go food items will also be available for those who would like a quick breakfast.
CHURCH AND CEMETERY TOURS
The Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church will offer a guided tour of the church and cemetery following the bike excursion. On-site sign-ups will be available, and participants will have the opportunity to visit the watchtower.

Free parking is available at:
- Veterans Honor Roll and Memorial Park (1000 Wewanna Ave)
- Town Hall Parking Lot (1980 Morris Ave)
RIDER REQUIREMENTS & SAFETY
- Ages: 12 years and older. Riders ages 12–17 must be accompanied by a registered parent or guardian.
- Equipment: A working bike with inflated tires and a helmet is mandatory.
- Not Allowed: No scooters, training wheels, or balance bikes.
- Preparation: Please bring your own water. Three water stations will also be available along the route.
- Safety and Pace You are welcome to ride at your own pace. However, please note that the police escort and street closures will end at 10:00 AM. Riders must obey all traffic laws and signals when an officer is not present.
