The SLO County Jazz Federation is thrilled to present the Bill Mays Trio in concert on Saturday January 11th at 7:30 pm. Bill Mays is a masterful pianist as well as a prolific composer and arranger. He has worked extensively with numerous jazz legends including Sarah Vaughan, Phil Woods, Benny Golson, Red Mitchell, Gerry Mulligan and Frank Sinatra (to name a few). After a lengthy tenure in Los Angeles working in the Hollywood recording studios, he relocated to New York City in 1984 and has played with numerous top jazz artists at all the major venues. His NYC based trio includes Dean Johnson on bass and Ron Vincent on drums.
The concert at Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church (1701 Fredericks St., SLO) starts at 7:30 pm (doors open at 7:00). Tickets are priced at $25 for Jazz Federation members, $35 for general admission and $10 for students and can be purchased at www.my805tix.com. For more information see www.slojazz.org.
