Description
The Bergonzi Trio brings together three distinguished performers and educators for an inspiring program celebrating the expressive power of the piano trio. Violinist John Gilbert, cellist George Work, and pianist Richard Fountain have earned recognition for their artistry, teaching, and commitment to chamber music. Their performance features two cornerstones of the Romantic repertoire: Felix Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio No. 1 in D Minor, a work overflowing with lyricism, energy, and youthful passion, and Johannes Brahms’ Piano Trio No. 1 in B Major, a masterpiece of depth and warmth that showcases the composer’s rich harmonic language and emotional intensity. Together, these works will offer the audience a memorable journey through some of the finest chamber music ever written.
