The autumn equinox is a sacred threshold- a moment when the light and dark stand in perfect balance, offering us an opportunity to pause, realign, and awaken. As the days grow shorter and the nights deepen, our inner rhythms shift, touching both body and soul. We are invited into reflection, restoration, and inner quiet, laying the groundwork for the dark, nourishing months to come. This is the beginning of root energy- the descent into the nourishing dark, where rest and renewal are born. It is a time to journey inward, to return to the dark womb of the spiritual world, and to lay strong foundations for the seasons ahead. The equinox calls us not only to witness the timing of the seasons, but to participate in it. To stop, breathe, and adjust to the changing flow of life. Spiritually, it is a moment of rebirth, growth, and awakening, marking an energetic shift that realigns our personal power and deepens our connection to the cycles of nature. Join us in sacred circle as we honour the turning of the wheel and the sacred balance of light and dark. The autumn equinox marks the moment of perfect equilibrium- a pause between summer’s abundance and winter’s stillness- inviting us to gather, give thanks, and realign with the rhythms of nature.
✨ What to expect ✨
Opening Ceremony & Tea Ritual
We open our gathering by speaking the 13 precepts of witchcraft- a grounding invocation that calls us into scared space, aligns us with the cycles of nature, and unites the circle in shared intention. From this sacred foundation, we move into our ceremonial harvest tea ritual. The tea, lovingly prepared in advance using a symbolic layering method, is brought into the circle as we bless each ingredient- apple, spices, flowers, and fruits- honouring their gifts and the energies they carry. With each blessing, we call in the balance of the equinox, the warmth of the hearth, and the abundance of the harvest. The tea is then shared among the circle, each sip taken as an act of gratitude, presence, and seasonal blessing.
Teaching: the autumn equinox and seasonal shifts
Learn about the history, spiritual significance, and magical correspondences of the autumn equinox. We’ll explore how this seasonal threshold invites balance, reflection, and the ordering of both our inner light and shadow.
Seasonal ritual
Together we will perform a sacred autumn equinox ritual, calling in balance and harmony as we release what no longer serves and open to the blessings of the darker half of the year. Through intention, movement, and the energy of the gathered circle, we honour both the harvest and the quiet rest to come.
Harvest feast
Share in the bounty of the season with a feast of fresh fruits, nuts, berries, and herbal teas- a sensory celebration of natures gifts and the abundance we’ve received this year.
Guided journey of balance
After we share in the abundance of our harvest feast, we will gather once more for a guided meditation and sound healing experience- a sacred journey into the heart of balance. Together, we will travel between day and night, shadow and light, earth and spirit, exploring places within us where these energies meet. This inward voyage will help us release what no longer serves, embrace the wholeness of all being, and align with the deep harmony of the equinox.
