The Art of Mindfulness - Pointillism Mandalas
About this Event
Art of Mindfulness: Pointillism Mandalas
Slow down, breathe, and lose yourself in the meditative rhythm of dot by dot creation. In this immersive workshop, you'll use dotting tools, stencils, and vibrant acrylic paints to build stunning pointillism mandalas on striking black canvas panels — where every tiny mark of color contributes to a radiant, deeply personal whole.
Mandalas have been used for thousands of years across Hindu, Buddhist, and Indigenous traditions as sacred symbols of the universe, wholeness, and the interconnectedness of all things. The Sanskrit word mandala simply means "circle," yet these intricate geometric designs have served as tools for meditation, spiritual ceremony, and artistic expression across cultures from ancient India and Tibet to the Aztec sun stone and the rose windows of Gothic cathedrals. Carl Jung later introduced the mandala to Western psychology, using it as a framework for exploring the self and inner harmony — a tradition this workshop lovingly continues.
Working against a rich black background, you'll discover how even the most methodical, repetitive mark-making becomes a form of moving meditation. Stencils and dotting tools make this workshop approachable for all skill levels, while leaving plenty of room for your own color choices and creative instincts to shine through. No prior art experience is necessary — only a willingness to be present, patient, and playful.
All materials are provided. Come ready to breathe, create, and leave with a one-of-a-kind piece of mindful art.
