Working with a rich assortment of papers, patterns, colors, and textures, you'll dive in with your hands and instincts — tearing, layering, and pasting your way through a series of bold, expressive backgrounds. No overthinking. No second-guessing. Just materials and momentum.
Then comes the magic: those larger compositions get cut apart, revealing unexpected pairings, hidden details, and combinations you never could have planned. From these discoveries, you'll select one or two pieces to develop into finished works of art — shaped entirely by what surprised you most.
Along the way, we'll talk about materials and composition, but the real work of this class is quieting that inner critic and learning to trust what draws you in. Collage rewards curiosity over perfection, and this workshop gives you full permission to follow the process wherever it leads.
