About this Event
There has been a lot of press recently about workplace culture and its effect on employee well-being. Many different problems have been identified, including bullying, conflict, loneliness, discrimination, and exclusion. Yet all these problems not only affect people’s well-being; they also undermine employee engagement which in turn affects business performance and talent turnover. Leaders and managers therefore need to be able to foster inclusive, flourishing workplace cultures.
In this seminar you will learn how to achieve this, not through traditional approaches to EDI but through a new lens of positive relationship management. Drawing on the latest work in this field, you will be introduced to the six key Triggers that promote or undermine rapport and will illustrate how they affect people management issues. You will learn how to apply them in the workplace and introduce ways of monitoring rapport at work. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss people management challenges.
This event is suitable for leaders and managers, who want to be able to handle people management and workplace culture more effectively. It will also benefit HR and Learning and Development professionals and other practitioners concerned with leader development and creating inclusive, high performing, flourishing cultures. Those experiencing relationship difficulties at work with either colleagues or their line manager, irrespective of role, will also find this session useful.
The session will be led by Professor Helen Spencer-Oatey and Dr Domna Lazidou from Global People Consulting.
Helen is internationally renowned for her work in rapport management and was recently listed in the top 2% of experts worldwide for her impact on other specialists in the field (Stanford University/Elsevier ranking).
Domna has over 25 years of experience as a consultant, trainer and facilitator specialising in global leadership development and culture change.
Helen and Domna’s latest book, 'Making Working Relationships Work: The TRIPS toolkit for handling relationship challenges and promoting rapport', was published in May 2024 and has been highly praised by professionals in a wide range of sectors. Helen and Domna regularly run training sessions together and are particularly appreciated for the insightful and practical nature of their training.
