About this Event
Please join e and Nighthawk for a conversation with Thom Powers about his new book “Mondo Documentary,” which director Judd Apatow calls a “love letter to the art of nonfiction filmmaking.”
About the book
For 20 years, Thom Powers has overseen the selection of documentaries for the Toronto International Film Festival. In “Mondo Documentary,” he shares his perspectives on more than 350 films that he has presented to audiences. They include the works of celebrated directors such as Werner Herzog, Laura Poitras, Raoul Peck and Alex Gibney; Oscar winners “Inside Job,” “Undefeated,” “Free Solo” and “No Other Land”; and portraits of a multitude of music icons — Bruce Springsteen, Grace Jones, Yo-Yo Ma and more. Whether you’re a documentary aficionado or a novice, prepare to discover a bounty of hidden treasures.
