Discover the French Heart of Georgetown.

Join the Women in Leadership (WIL) Committee for an exclusive walking tour through the cobblestone streets of Georgetown as we trace the deep and storied connections between this historic neighborhood and the culture of France.

Our walk will explore the lives and legacies of the French and Francophile figures who shaped both Georgetown and the transatlantic relationship.

The Journey Includes:

  • Julia Childโ€™s Kitchen Beginnings: Visit the home where the legendary chef lived before she brought French cuisine to the American table.
  • The Jackie Kennedy Connection: Explore the stays and stories of the First Lady whose time in France deeply influenced her iconic style and diplomatic grace.
  • Revolutionary Legacies: Walk in the footsteps of the Marquis de Lafayette and Pierre Charles L'Enfant, the French engineer who envisioned the capitalโ€™s grand design.
  • Architectural & Diplomatic History: View stunning Second Empire architecture and the House of Ambassadors to France.
  • Espionage & Gastronomy: Conclude our walk near the site of the legendary Au Pied de Cochon, a French institution famous for its food and its role in a famous Cold War spy escape.

The Afternoon Finale: The tour ends near the charming Boulangerie Christophe, placing you perfectly for an afternoon pastry or coffee. Following the tour, join WIL Board Member Sabine Ronc and fellow members for an informal, optional Apรฉro (location TBD).
