The 27th Mile: A Conversation with Author, Dimity McDowell
About this Event
Through a candid conversation, Dimity will share the deeply personal story behind her book and explore what happens when running - or another athletic pursuit that has shaped your identity - is no longer possible because of injury, chronic pain, or illness.
The evening will feature an interview with Olympian Carrie Tollefson, followed by audience Q&A. After the program, stick around to meet Dimity during a book signing. Copies of The 27th Mile will be available for purchase.
Whether you're a lifelong runner, an athlete navigating change, or someone who enjoys an inspiring story of resilience, join us for an evening of meaningful conversation and connection.
About Dimity: Before turning her focus fully to running, Dimity McDowell built her career as a sports journalist, holding staff positions at Self, ESPN: The Magazine, and Sports Illustrated for Women. She is the co-author of Run Like a Mother, Train Like a Mother, and Tales from Another Mother Runner, and the co-founder of Another Mother Runner, an inclusive community for women runners worldwide. A certified personal trainer, menopause coach, and running coach, Dimity has completed everything from the Ironman Coeur d'Alene to the Pikes Peak Ascent, but she’s most passionate about helping women stay strong and move forward on the roads, on the trails, and in their own lives. She lives in Denver with her husband and two dogs and is the mother of two adult children, neither of whom are runners.
