The 2026 Tones of Home Gathering

On October 21st, 1995, the world was forever changed by the death of Shannon Hoon. While coping with the devastation of the loss of her son, Ms. Nel Hoon found comfort in a community of melonheads. For twenty years, on the weekend closest to Shannon's birthday, people from all walks of life traveled to Dayton, Indiana, to help celebrate the life, music, and light of Shannon. Many "vigil goers" became very close, like family. Twenty years is a long time and in 2015, Ms. Nel decided that it is time for her to take a step back. With her blessing, in 2016 we began the Tones of Home Gathering. Its not the same as the Vigil, its no longer held at the cemetery but it is still a beautiful gathering of like-minded souls celebrating Shannon, his music, and the friendships that we have built over the years.
