The 2026 Sense and Sensibility Ball

The Steubenville Ball Season is back! Join us in celebrating the anniversary of the publication (October 1811) of Jane Austen's first novel, Sense and Sensibility, with a regency ball! Our 2026 Sense and Sensibility Ball will take place on Saturday, October 24th, in the ballroom on the third floor of the Renaissance Building in downtown Steubenville, above Leonardo's Coffeehouse. Enjoy authentic and adapted English Country Dances with live string music, experienced callers, and delicious refreshments. Experience the joy of traditional dance and share your love of Jane Austen in a community environment! No experience required. There will be an optional practice session on Friday October 23rd as well as an optional instructional hour starting at 6 p.m. in the ballroom, before the real dancing begins. Neat attire a must, formal encouraged, regency is best of all! Family friendly. Tickets are $20 per person for adults, $10 for attendees age 8-18, free for kids under 8. Special patron tickets at $50 per person include an additional donation to the Steubenville Athenaeum to support this and similar events.
