Our Keynote Speaker, Dr. Alisa Sumkin, DO, is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist and Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, practicing primarily at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital. Subspecializing in breast imaging, she focuses on comprehensive screening and diagnostic modalities, including mammography, 3D tomosynthesis, contrast enhanced mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and image-guided biopsies. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Sumkin serves as the Assistant Program Director for the Breast Imaging Fellowship, where she is dedicated to advancing medical education, fellowship training, and safety simulation, notably developing courses on contrast reaction management. Driven by a deep passion for technological innovation, she actively explores state-of-the-art advances to elevate procedual precision, optimate diagnostic tools and improve patient care. Passionate about public health and community outreach, she frequently speaks on breast health education, density-based screening options, and the critical importance of early detection.
