Terroir Seminar with Randy Caparoso
About this Event
Terroir Seminar with Randy Caparoso
Join Randy Caparoso at Marchelle Wines’ new Healdsburg tasting room for a special industry seminar on terroir, site expression, and how place shapes the identity of wine.
Randy is a longtime wine writer, editor for The SOMM Journal, and contributor to numerous wine publications. Though he has recently moved outside of California, his connection to California wine remains strong through his writing, education, and continued work with the people and vineyards that shape the region.
This seminar will explore how terroir is understood, experienced, and communicated, especially within the context of California’s diverse vineyard sites. Randy will guide a discussion on how soil, climate, farming, vine age, and place come together to influence what we taste in the glass.
Guests will taste through selected Marchelle wines, including signature Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, along with rare old vine selections from our historic vineyard portfolio. The tasting will help connect the conversation to the wines themselves and show how vineyard character expresses itself across different sites.
This event is designed for wine industry professionals, including sommeliers, hospitality teams, tasting room professionals, retailers, buyers, educators, writers, winery teams, and anyone in the trade interested in deepening their understanding of terroir and site expression.
