Old Vines Seminar with Randy Caparoso
About this Event
Old Vines Seminar with Randy Caparoso
Marchelle is honored to welcome Randy Caparoso for a special seminar on old vines, heritage vineyards, and the deep history they bring to the glass.
Randy is a longtime wine writer, editor for The SOMM Journal, and contributor to numerous wine publications. Though he has recently moved outside of California, his connection to California wine remains strong through his writing, education, and continued work with the people and vineyards that shape the region.
This seminar will explore what makes old vines meaningful beyond age alone, including farming, history, preservation, site expression, and the role these vineyards play in protecting a living connection to the past.
Guests will also taste selections from Marchelle’s old vine portfolio, including rare wines from historic vineyards such as Cinsault and Zinfandel planted in the 1880s, along with old vine Colombard planted in 1900.
This event is designed for wine industry professionals, including sommeliers, hospitality teams, tasting room professionals, retailers, buyers, educators, writers, winery teams, and anyone in the trade interested in old vines and heritage winegrowing.
