Ternura Radical Open Mic & Mercadito Fundraiser

Hola queridxs miembros de la comunidad, please join us at Centro Cultural de la Raza on Friday, February 20th for a fundraiser for families impacted by ICE. This fundraiser is an Open Mic, with spots open for 1st-come-1st-serve sign-ups. Please come with open hearts to spend time in community while we share space, food, love, art, joy, grief, music, and laughter. 💌
We have two featured artists, Vianney Harelly and Los Paisanos. All vendors in El Mercadito will donate a portion of their proceeds to the fundraiser. Entry fee will be a sliding scale of $10-$20 by cash or Venmo. However, nobody will be turned away for lack of funds. Please see our list of vendors to know what is available; please note that Tamales.619 will be available, so come hungry! 🫔Mocktails will also be available for purchase. This is a sober event.
The theme of the fundraiser is Ternura Radical (radical tenderness), a term coined by Lía García (La Sirena Novia). It is defined as the act of sustaining ourselves, and one another, with revolutionary love amidst violence. We encourage all performing artists to incorporate the theme into their performances. 🌟❤️‍🔥
Masks are highly encouraged.

PARKING:

Per City of San Diego website: "Free parking is available in the Lower Inspiration Point lot on Presidents Way for up to three hours, and a free shuttle is available to take visitors to other areas of the park. Designated spaces are also available for buses and oversized vehicles at Lower Inspiration Point."
