Hear about Stuart Navy Captain from Dawlish, Gilbert Clapp and the 9 different ships on which he served; The three admirals who sailed in Nelson’s Navy and are buried in the same churchyard in Bishopsteignton; Admiral Schank from Dawlish who invented the lifting keel that had a lasting impact on Naval ships and yachting; Captain Bond of Starcross who sailed with Bligh on the second expedition to the South Seas; and hear from Commodore Michael Clapp, from Ipplepen, commander of the amphibious force that relieved the Falklands and returned them to British sovereignty in 1982.
