About this Event

Overview
Grandparenting Differently: Supporting your autistic or ADHD grandchild is a series of free five day lunch time workshops designed to help grandparents
  • better understand autism and ADHD
  • strengthen family relationships
  • feel more confident in supporting their grandchild.

The workdhop provides a welcoming and supportive space to learn about autism and ADHD, explore common challenges and successes, and connect with other grandparents who share similar experiences.
Through a combination of expert guidance, practical strategies and open discussion, you'll gain greater insight into how autistic and ADHD children experience the world and how you can provide meaningful support.

Celebrating strengths and connections

In this extended final session, we’ll explore how to recognise and celebrate your grandchild’s strengths, interests and abilities, while helping to build their confidence and sense of self.

We’ll also consider how everything you’ve learned can deepen your connection with your grandchild and support positive relationships across the wider family.

Bringing it all together
We’ll recap the key themes from the five sessions, reflect on what you’ve learned and share the practical ideas and strategies you’d like to take forward.
