About this Event
Conservation Foundation's Teen Conservation Club is a program tailored for students ages 13 to 17. Join us every second Friday from October to May (the third Friday in November) from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on a journey of discovery, exploration, and conservation.

- Uncover Fascinating Topics: Ignite your curiosity as we dive into local issues! At each planning session, you'll brainstorm and pick topics that resonate with you, ensuring a learning experience that's both personal and enriching.
- Embark on Eye-Opening Field Trips: Explore your local environment and engage firsthand with environmental professionals. Witness nature's wonders, and gain insights you can't find in a textbook!
- Practice the Art of Presentation: Sharpen your communication skills by preparing and delivering two presentations to your fellow club members. Showcase your unique perspective on subjects close to your heart, amplifying your confidence and leadership abilities.
- Empowerment for Change: Transform from a concerned observer to an empowered advocate, driving positive change in your community. Learn how to make a tangible impact to address local environmental issues.
We kindly request that you commit to attending each session, as participants will build upon what they learn and experience throughout the program. Please ensure that you are able to attend each session prior to registration. All field trips will be in Sarasota or Manatee County.
About the Instructor - Sarah Denison Williams, Community Education Manager for Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast - Sarah creates engaging experiences that help people of all ages form connections with nature. Originally from Jupiter, FL, Sarah moved to Manatee County to attend New College of Florida, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies. In 2016, Sarah moved to a rural village in St. Mary, Jamaica, where she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer. After her return to the US, Sarah graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Global Sustainability from the University of South Florida. Sarah is a certified Florida Master Naturalist, NAI Certified Interpretive Guide, Project WILD Facilitator, and ACA Kayak Touring Trip Leader. Sarah lives in Bradenton with her husband, Bert, and orange tabby cat, Buju. She enjoys kayaking, gardening, and cooking recipes from around the world.
