We'll show you what the Alberta software development market actually looks like in 2026, what employers screen for, and what the path looks like if you're starting from nothing.
What happens in the room
Live Alberta job postings, on screen. Our VP walks through real junior and intermediate developer roles posted in Calgary and Edmonton this week. You'll see the salary bands and the requirement lists, plus what those requirements actually mean. Including which roles are hard to get, and why.
A live build, then a live break. One of our instructors builds a working job application tracker in front of you using AI. Then we break it. You'll see the exact point where AI stops being enough and what a developer has to know to fix it. Best ten minutes of the hour, and nobody else will show you this part.
A current student, unscripted. What they were doing before, what the first month was really like, what changed. Ask them anything.
The path, laid out plainly. How long the Software Development Diploma takes, what you learn, what it costs, what funding exists, when the next intake starts. Straight answers.
Who should come
Anyone seriously looking at a career change into tech in the next 6 to 12 months. Newcomers to Canada and people rebuilding after a layoff are usually most of the room. No coding experience needed. No degree needed.
Who should skip it
