How?
This course is designed to give adults the opportunity to begin to really understand the root cause of their child’s behavior as well as their role in it. Based on experiential activities that reach the heart to inspire deeper understanding and change, with role-play and group discussions really adding to the depth of the learning. This is an extremely powerful experience for participants. Parents love the 'Parents Helping Parents Problem-Solving Steps' because this process provides a fun and effective way for them to get specific help with real problems.

Whatelse?
Designed for parent educators, teachers, therapists, childcare professionals and others who want an effective discipline approach. This method is based on Adlerian Psychology and integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging behaviors. Successful participants will earn recognition as a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator and will:
_ Learn research based and effective tools and techniques for teaching parents how to use discipline that is kind and firm at the same time (non-punitive, non-permissive)
_ Learn how to facilitate a parent class from the position of a non-expert and gain practice with experiential exercises that help parents go beyond intellectual understanding to be able to respond in empowering ways that teach children.
_ Learn how to use materials and activities in group settings, parenting classes and individual work with families.
Earn 13 Continuing Education Credit Hours
The Positive Discipline Association is pleased to provide the opportunity for educators to earn graduate-level university credit. Whether you attend one of our live workshops or participate in an online workshop, you may choose to earn 1 to 4 non-degree credits. Positive Discipline Association courses approved for Graduate-Level Semester Credits through University of the Pacific will appear on an Official Transcript with a letter grade.

ABOUT THE TRAINER
Fernanda Lee, M.A.Ed., AMFT, is a Lead Positive Discipline Trainer, therapist, and TEDx speaker who has trained parents, educators, mental health professionals, coaches, and organizational leaders across the United States, Brazil, Portugal, and Luxembourg.
With over two decades of experience in education, counseling, and adult learning, Fernanda is known for translating Positive Discipline principles into practical, relationship-centered strategies that participants can confidently apply with families, children, classrooms, teams, and communities.
Her engaging, experiential teaching style blends research, real-world application, and encouragement, creating learning experiences that are both meaningful and immediately applicable.
Fernanda is also the proud mother of two young adults and credits Positive Discipline as one of the most transformative influences in both her professional practice and family life.

Workshop Registrations: A full refund (minus a $35 processing fee) will be given when the request for a refund is made up to 30 days prior to the first day of a workshop. Refunds are not available for cancellations less than 30 days before a workshop. However, paid registrants can transfer to another workshop within one year at no additional cost. Refunds are not available after a transfer is made or if you do not provide advanced notice that you will not be attending the workshop. In the event of cancellation you will be notified by email.
