Working Lunch: OK ORS Crisis Intervention Training Program Overview
Info: LUNCH PROVIDED BY CACITA. Composure Under Fire is an upstream prevention training program for law enforcement officers and other emergency service professionals, delivered under Texoma HIDTA as part of the Overdose Response Strategy. Its purpose is to equip officers to recognize and manage the effects of repeated critical-incident exposure before those effects escalate into crisis.
🕑: 02:00 PM - 03:30 PM
Panel: First Responder Wellness
Info: This presentation examines why wellness must be treated as a core operational priority for first responders, not an afterthought. It explores how sustained stress, shift work, and repeated exposure to trauma affect both mental and physical health and offers practical strategies for building resilience in day-to-day practice. The session then widens the lens to show how individual wellness ripples outward: healthier responders strengthen organizational performance by reducing burnout, turnover, and preventable errors; support stronger family relationships by easing the strain that the job can place on home life; and ultimately contribute to safer, more trusting communities, since responders who are well-supported are better equipped to serve the public effectively. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of wellness as an interconnected system — one where personal health, workplace culture, family stability, and community wellbeing all reinforce one another.
