We've been dance teachers for about 25 years (10 years West Coast Swing). We’ve built in Kraków the biggest WCS community in Eastern Europe in a few years (about 500 regular students from Newcomer to Allstar attend our classes every year), and before that we did the same with ballroom social dancing. Marcin was also a successful coach in competitive ballroom dancing, while Kasia decided to teach people with some disabilities and charity classes. We have been focusing on teaching adults since the beginning so we've accumulated quite a bit of knowledge and experience. Additionally, each year brings plenty of new insights, so you can certainly expect some new things each year.

From previous editions, we know what needs more time or what should be done differently, so (quoting one of our fellow trainers) "like every year, you can expect the best edition of the workshops ever." ;)

WHO IS IT FOR?
We invite:
- People who are currently teaching West Coast Swing
- Those who are planning to teach West Coast Swing in the future
- Everyone who wants to delve deeper into the knowledge of West Coast Swing
- People who want to benefit more from the classes by understanding their learning needs better
REQUIREMENTS to register:
If you are from Poland:
- Minimum three years of WCS dancing and/or participation in Polish events such as Andrzejki or Summer Summit at the TWO HIGHEST GROUPS.
If you are NOT from Poland and do not compete:
- Minimum five years of active WCS dancing
- Or you are already teaching WCS locally
- Or you have danced WCS for over a year but are a recognized teacher in another dance style
If you are not from Poland and you participate in competitions:
- You participate in JnJ WSDC at least at the Intermediate level

This time we decided to give you the opportunity to register for the whole weekend or only for one BLOCK.
BLOCK I (Friday/Saturday)
Dance methodology - about 8 hours:
- Andragogy vs pedagogy - how to teach adults effectively
- What makes people come to classes and why they stay
- How to identify problems which prevent students from progressing as fast as they want
- How to motivate students
- Teacher - group interaction
- What instructors should know about themselves to teach others better
- How to build and develop a community
- How we teach West Coast Swing to not intimidate beginners
- Q/A - discussing questions you send to us before this weekend, and every other question you will have

BLOCK II (Saturday/Sunday)
General - dance - about 8 hours (Methodology-technique):
- What the basics mean to us
- Are basic steps suffices enough to learn the ABC of West Coast Swing
- The order in which to introduce patterns so that they form a logical whole
- About music - the structure of a song and how to teach rhythm
- Key technical and musicality issues
- Differences in technique among various teachers and how to integrate everything
- Exercise suggestions that help even those without a dance background
- What to do to make a particular element achievable
- What to point out to students so everyone can dance as they feel in their soul
- What to do so everyone can develop at a steady pace
- Why dance development progresses at different rates for everyone (from the physical side) and how to deal with it - a bit about how our bodies work
Practice - about 5 hours:
- Practical part, so prepare that you might need to teach someone something ;) We will not force you to do it but we think it will be very beneficial for those who decide to do it
Of course, after the practical part, everyone will receive feedback - you can decide whether you want completely individual feedback or in a group forum.
Additionally, you will receive a summary of the entire workshop, to make it easier for you later to use your notes (which we assume you will be taking ;) )

BLOCK I + BLOCK II = 1500 PLN or 370 EUR
NOTE - price for TT2022 participants: 1000 PLN

Included in the price:
- A total of 21.5 hours of theoretical and practical sessions (for the whole weekend)
- Printed materials for each participant (+ you will receive a Certificate from us)
- Half an hour individually with Marcin or Kasia within six months post-workshop on the topics of these workshops (possibly online for those who attend for the whole weekend)
- Social dancing
Payment in installments possible:
50% of the price by July 15, the remaining 50% by July 30. And if this particular installment plan doesn't work for you, let us know, we'll figure something out
IMPORTANT:
There will be no possibility to cancel (you can ask someone to take your place). This means that even if you choose to pay in installments, you are obligated to pay the full amount, even if you realize at some point that you can’t attend.

INSTRUCTORS: Kasia and Marcin Skalscy
Kasia and Marcin are a teaching couple from Kraków with massive experience in both dancing and teaching (each of them has been teaching for over 20 years). For a long time their interests revolved around competitive ballroom dancing.
As an instructor, Marcin has been working with competitive ballroom dancers for over 15 years, teaching mainly adults at all levels of advancements (from complete beginners to S-class dancers). He is also a personal trainer and Buteyko method instructor, and passionate about healthy movement.
Kasia, on the other hand, has been focusing on social dances. She’s gained experience in teaching kids, teenagers and adults (some of them physically challenged) at various levels of advancement, as well as running courses for other dance instructors. She’s also the creator of the largest charity dance course in Poland, attended by hundreds of students every year.
As a teaching duo, Marcin and Kasia prove that absolutely everyone is capable of learning how to dance. They are well-known and appreciated for their positive energy and passionate approach to dance instruction.
Kasia and Marcin in just two years (from year 2014) have built the largest WCS community in Poland (and this part of Europe). Currently, in their dance studio in Kraków, they run 15 WCS courses on 6 different levels of advancement. A number of their students attend international events and compete successfully in Newcomer, Novice, Intermediate, Advance and All-star divisions. Happy as they are with their students’ results in jack’n’jills, they do not see the competitive aspect of WCS as the most important thing in this dance. Social dancing and having fun is what they appreciate most. The most wonderful and fulfilling experience is for them to see how people who were extremely skeptical on their first lesson and thought that dancing is not for them, get excited about WCS and join the community for good.
They constantly surprise their students with new, creative exercises and they are capable of translating even the most difficult WCS concepts into a language understandable for everyone.
