This tour is about Educators and Clergy, and a few people who were both! The cemetery has the founders of local churches of several different faiths. Our educators vary from pioneer schoolteachers to recent college professors. We also have language and music teachers, flight instructors, and a school superintendent who integrated local schools even though he disagreed with it.Notes: - These are walking tours. Please wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Tours are not typically canceled due to weather.
- Parking is available on the street or at the Riverside Target. We recommend avoiding parking in the Selland's lot across the street from the cemetery to reduce the risk of being towed.
- The Old City Cemetery Committee, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to raising funds for the restoration and repair of historic monuments and headstones at Sacramento's "Old City Cemetery."
